Over the years, I have had my eyes and heart focused on the Philippines and my kababayans back home. I will soon be back to my motherland. No other place like home.
At the end of theyear, I will be relocating from Sweden to Manila after spending 43 years of my productive professional years and training in Denmark, Norway and Sweden. In these countries, I acquired knowledges and honed my skill in surgery -- specifically, Cosmetic surgery. In a respectable community, a humble Fiipino like me earned the trust and confidence of patients who had faith in what I offered them.
Training in several hospitals in Denmark and Sweden earned me medical specialties in General Surgery and Orthopedic Surgery. To add to this I sepnt six years subspecializing in Obstetrics and Gynecology. The practice and competence were fine tuned when I became chief of Surgery in Kalix, Sweden for 11 years, where I also have a 12-bed Ob & Gyn for another 7 years, until we acquired a specialist in said line. As a young resident, I also had a subsidiary training in plastic and reconstructive surgery and thoracic surgery with OABS or Odense Amts och Bys Sygehus in Denmark. In all other hospitals where I have trained many personnel and later their families requested for cosmetic surgical procedures soon as they knew that I had been from plastic surgical departments, which was no less than beneficial for me in my future line of specialty.
After retiring from government service in Sweden 20 years ago, I set up a private clinic and started my own private practice in Cosmetic surgery in Kalix, Sweden. Now I am only working on skin deep surgeries, such as eyebags, nose jobs, facelift, breast augmentation, reduction and breast lift, tummy tuck, cellulites, brachial wing, and varices.
Instead of acquiring a PhD or a professor's degree, I decided to keep on improving my skill to satusfy my patients. I surmised that if I am the patient I wouldn't care what degree you have, what I am interested is what you can do to improve or make me more attractive, or look younger and this is the most important point I am most interested, and seeing the before and after pictures of your previous patients is better than a thousand words of descriptions.
Aging became an ally in this field as nobody wanted to grow old. We, however, never promise nor compromise our situation, though the operations are guaranteed, the healing process is beyond our capacity. Age and diabetes can play a central role, some heal faster and better than others. Some patients came with pictures of Marilyn Monroe and wanted her lips, or Elizabeth Taylor's eyes or a clone of a movie star. I always explain to my patients of these kinds that everybody has limits and limitations. We don't have "spare parts" to replace parts of the face or body they'd want changed.
